The Fatima Peace Pledge
In answer to the question "What must the individual do in order that peace be given to the world, Communism be turned back and the annihilation of nations be averted?" Sister Lucy of Fatima gave the following Peace Pledge Formula summarizing Our Lady's requests to each of us.
It reads as follows:
Dear Queen and Mother Who promised at Fatima to convert Russia and bring peace to all mankind, in reparation to Your Immaculate Heart, for my sins and the sins of the whole world, I solemnly promise:
1) To offer up every day the sacrifices demanded by my daily duty;
2) To say part of the Rosary (five decades) daily while meditating on the mysteries;
3) To wear the Scapular of Mount Carmel as profession of this promise and as an act of consecration to You. I shall renew this promise often, especially in moments of temptation.
*Note: Baptized Catholics may be officially enrolled in the Scapular of Mount Carmel to gain the Scapular promise of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She said, "Take this Scapular, whosoever dies wearing it shall not suffer eternal fire. It shall be a sign of salvation, a protection in danger and a pledge of peace." A non-Catholic may wear the Brown Scapular and will receive blessings for doing so.
(This pledge is not a vow and does not bind under pain of sin. Nevertheless it is a promise - your word given to your Heavenly Mother.)
We draw the reader's attention to the article "What Does Our Lady Want?", in this book. This shows the relationship between our fulfillment of the Fatima Peace Pledge and the Pope's fulfillment of Our Lady of Fatima's most important and essential request; namely, that the Pope, in union with all the bishops of the world, solemnly and publicly, on one specific day, consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Therefore, our daily duty would include the obligation to correctly inform ourselves about the exact manner in which Our Lady requested the consecration be done. Once informed, then we are additionally obligated to publicly acknowledge the truth regarding the absolute importance that the Pope obey Her request immediately. Not even the filial respect we owe the Pope allows us to falsify or remain silent about this part of the Fatima Message.
Now that you have read this book and know more fully the implications of this command to consecrate Russia, we further draw your attention to the fact that your daily duty which you pledge to fulfill above, includes doing what you can to encourage the Pope and bishops to do THEIR duty before it is too late for all of us.
Do your part. Support the International Fatima Rosary Crusade, Heaven's Peace Plan and The Fatima Crusader with your prayers, your work, your moral and financial support. Collect petitions for the consecration - send them to us to forward to your bishops and to the Pope.
